Andre was able to fix up the derailleur and allow us to continue on the Cabot Trail. Thanks for your talents, expertise and reasonable prices. Velocity Max Cycling is a hidden gem in Cheticamp.

- Ron Grossman Added 2017-09-14★ ★ ★ ★ ★I was touring Cape Breton Island and Newfoundland for 2 weeks and was having gear switching issues on my Specialized Tricross while on the Cabot Trail. Stopped at Velo Max Cycling in Cheticamp early on the morning of August 28, 2015. Andre, the owner, got the bicycle up on the stand after I unloaded the panniers and gear..First he checked for cable movement at the rear derailieur, there wasn't any, so he lubed and uncrimped the cable housing after showing me what was wrong. After fiddling with the barrel adjusters and wiping all the road gook off the chain with a rag the gears switched smoothly again. Really appreciated Andre taking care of me on the spur of the moment and he asked me if a modest sum would be appropriate for the magic (to me) he had just performed on the bike. He and his shop are so valuable to cyclists and the cycling community on Cape Breton Island (only 2 on the island). As a solo loaded tourer from New York I was very grateful to have Velo Max Cycling on my trip route. Andre is a true cycling enthusiast. We had both gone up Alpe d' Huez in France (he noticed the sticker on my bike's frame). He also told me about obnoxious cyclists who stop in and have a sense of being entitled to his attention when he's busy then leave with barely a word of thanks.That certainly wasn't the case when I popped into his well-stocked shop (noticed the high quality Louis Garneau duds on the rack). Thanks for your service and words of bike maintainance advise Andre. Merci.
